I can't remember ever watching this. I'd wondered how Brian would have been told that he'd never see his son and Amy again ๐ญ Wow, how heartbreaking, but also glad that Amy and Rory had a happy ever after regardless ๐ฅฐ

2024-12-05 07:30:01 +0000 UTCno need to thank me at all, SO glad you got to see it !!! โก thatโs honestly such an interesting point to have started the show and gone back from! it does feel like a bit of a Moffat-afterthought that thereโs no explanation for the rest of Amy and Roryโs lives, particularly when you compare it to the somewhat similar displacement plot of Rose and that even the series after that, Captain Jack brings up seeing Roseโs name on a โlist of the deadโ so the Doctor can reveal sheโs still alive, but the rest of Amy and Roryโs lives get no explanation like that beyond what Brian gets told in the minisode ๐ญ Ik thereโs A LOT of audio series out now that the actors partake in, but not sure there are any for Amy or Rory, which feels like a MASSIVE missed opportunity!!

I first started watching Doctor Who during the next companions era and then went back to Amy and Rory to see the start of 11 before deciding I liked the show and then back to 9th doctor. (I was super hesitant on this show but my friend told me I would like the companion after Amy/Rory so that's why I started there. Believe I started watching a year or two after the new companion joined so roughly 2013-2014) However, after seeing Amy/Rory I always felt bad for Brian never knowing where they went. Probably spending the rest of his years wondering, unless the Doctor told him off screen which felt like something the Doctor probably wouldn't do. I am soooo glad to have discovered this. 10 years late but better then never knowing. Though I wonder what their jobs and friends think happened?
