2022-10-23 07:22:17 +0000 UTCI can't stop being amazed by the herd mentality & creativity that some videos causes in people on tik tok ๐ I mean the original video is cute & funny, but that so many feels the need (+ has the time) to make their own versions of it is puzzling ๐ I guess some uses viral stuff just as an excuse to advertise themselves, when they feel like they are looking good, like the guy without the shirt and some girls silly dancing or lip syncing. Nothing wrong with good self-esteem, but sometimes it feels like there is so much pointless content out there sucking out people's time ๐ And what's wrong with word explain ๐ Isn't that somewhat the same as expound ๐ As ESL person it's frustrating when not being able to say things exactly as I would want to and as I would in my own language and have to sort of go around some words and sound like an idiot. I'm not a big fan of fancy words, but maybe I'm a dumb dumb who would be kicked out of the supper clubs ๐คช It's good to have rich language and many ways to express things, but big words become a problem when some people want to show off that they are somehow superior to others when they have memorized fancy words. And for example politicians & leaders would have more power and influence, if they could talk to common people so that everyone understands. And no, no one peed in my coffee today, just got triggered, sorry for the rant๐ Btw nice laughter therapy that fake laughing, very contagious ๐

Calling someone pretentious for using big words is just a defense mechanism for those who have limited vocabulary ๐ (ASL folks not included)
