2026-01-03 00:39:01 +0000 UTCIndeed, so many legends are dead; Richard Harris who played Dumbledore (1 and 2) but also his replacement Michael Gambon (3 to 8). There's Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Alan Rickman (Snape), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Richard Griffiths (uncle Vernon), John Hurt (Ollivander, the wand maker), Verne Troyer (Griphook, the actor who played the goblin who opened Harry's vault at the beginning), Leslie Philips (The voice for the Sorting Hat). Those are only the ones who played in this movie, but there are even more when you count the next movies. Also, I love the movies to death, but you guys pointing out that you didn't get to see many classes is so true. And it personally one of my gripes, along with the fact that Ron in the movies is made to be kinda 'dumb'. It sucks cause he's my favorite character in the books. If Hermione is book smart, Ron is street smart, and the whole dynamic of the trio is much more balanced. Anyways, all that to say, I'll forever ever love these movies but I'm also super excited for the Harry Potter series in the making. I know it's not to everyone's taste, for Harry Potter to get a new adaptation of the books, but I've always wished for a series since there is SO MUCH the movies couldn't put on screen because of movie length. Much had to be cut. Either way, these movies are so dear to my heart. I remember growing up with them. And this one was a bit scary at certain moments (the screaming book with the face trying to come out of the pages, Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest, feasting on the unicorn blood and then slithering towards Harry, but also when Quirrell took off his turban to reveal Voldemort's face at the back of his head). John William's soundtrack is a masterpiece. The Hedwig's theme is SO recognizable. You just hear the first few notes and you just know you're about to watch Harry Potter or anything related to it. It's the franchise's trademark, legendary.
