Pick Your Own

Tea Spot post Pick Your Own from patreon

Besswarden did not understand the hopping rodents, not all of them at least.

Most species on the Station lived in the standard habitation blocks, enjoying the spacious accomadation of the halfway deserted research craft as it travelled slowly to it's target over the last few weeks. Some, such as those belonging to the two species that orignally built the Station even enjoyed it's origenal configuration where they lived, complete with swimming pools in all rooms. However, the Sprin...

Tea Spot post Rag Tag: Rookie Rodents, Page 25 GAME OVER from patreon

Well what's this, a Game Over for our poor rookie adventurers? did they truly bite off more then they can chew? it certainly looks like the Kapro didn't!

Every so often you'll come across little GAME OVER non-canon pages for Rookie Rodents, as a way to reward you delightful viewers ;3

As Patrons may have gathered, the Patreon poll after Page 25 was indeed to select the GAME OVER alternative ending to the comic out of all those choices... and the big ol smug darling that is the Kap...

Time for a fun little poll for some non-canon RagTag content! Page 25 showed a few of the Thistleland critters, but which of them would you want to see a non-canon Party Wipe of the Rodent Adventure Group? Each critter has it's own theme blend behind it, too!

Springhare Kits and Hyena Packs

Tea Spot post Springhare Kits and Hyena Packs from patreon

The research station was far too large for it's purpose. Created as something akin to both a habitat station and a refugee ship, it was designed to accommodate millions in somewhat reasonable conditions. Even when rooms were expanded, entire sections converted to science uses and updated technology shoehorned into it's vast array of empty spaces, the large void craft was more then half empty.

While as much effort as possible was made to ensure inhabited sections of the station were clus...

Tea Spot post Boned from patreon

Mik-Nik had seen the ship enter the atmosphere and watches he streak of light as it fell down to the planet surface. He had flown across the wastes to see those who exited the strange contraption and to work out it's purpose. It was a small craft, designed for interstellar scouting though appeared modified with sensors.

When the hatch opened the the crew emerged, Mik-Nik was certain they were no immediate threat. Two canine things, two rodent things and a feline thing emerged, walking a...

Predatory Pin

Tea Spot post Predatory Pin from patreon

There are many things a Grimalkin may do with those they find that are not on any crew manifest, but typically the last thing such a person would see is the confines of vanishing down the gullet of such a beast. Despite the most likely outcome, the journey to that destination may be full of adventures of various forms.

Some Grimalkin can be quite affectionate to those they capture, even if they intend to consume them regardless. Snuggles, cuddles and carrying a poor person back to their...

Self-indulgent Swallow

Tea Spot post Self-indulgent Swallow from patreon

The enjoyment of one's nature is something constant to not just organic creatures, but also synthetic. It seems that fulfilling one's perceived purpose, accomplishing what one considers their calling brings satisfaction that can appeal to instincts, coding and ideology.

In the case of Grimalkin, by and large for the species the satisfaction they gain from performing the traits of their species is the most pure form of enjoyment. Scents, textures, tastes and mass, all the way through the...

Main course and effect

Tea Spot post Main course and effect from patreon

The winding road from cause to effect and effect to cause can oft lead one situation's attempted cure becoming another situations curse apparent.  The attempt to saving something most cherished causing the loss of another's cherished item is often the basis of an antagonists back-story, yet often the truth of such matters can be far more murky with responsibilities ultimately vanishing into the air like the mist of a Fogged Leopard on a windy morning.

The station i...

Decisions, decisions

Tea Spot post Decisions, decisions from patreon

There are few who understand the complexities and consequences of decisions. For most, a choice is a simple thing, a throwaway thought between which drink to have, or what to have for lunch. No consequences aside the immediate. Small choices for small people.

Some species, however, require deeper choices as their daily life, Fogged Leopards being a prime example. Similar to their cousins Snow and Clouded Leopards, Fogged Leopards are so named due to the mist that seeps out of their rose...

Pest Control

Tea Spot post Pest Control from patreon

If there's one thing that can be said of Grimalkin, it is that they love their job. For a species so highly voracious, often the most tricky part is ensuring they do not eat creatures that are meant to be on board. While this might cause stress in other critters, or lengthy questionings and database searching before determining if someone is a pest or a registered crew-member, Grimalkin skip the entire issue and simply work on the idea that if they don't recognize you, you are going to likely...

Diplomatic Claim

Tea Spot post Diplomatic Claim from patreon

The last of the character line ups, this time we deal with Jasmine, her springhare diplomatic assistants and the Dragon Empire's monitor lizard Ambassador.

As before, this piece is another Inanis style test, gaining variations in springhares as well as non-mammal designs. All is all it worked out well, and was actually one of the first of these test lineups!

With the line ups done, the Inanis style was worked out, and more interesting things can now be done in the Inanis setting. ...

Planet Fel

Tea Spot post Planet Fel from patreon

Another little line up, this time of the main characters of Planet Fel, a project that's on the back burner due to budgeting.

As with the HMS FIF character line-up, this was one of a few  character/species line-ups done to try out the Inanis art style for  future projects, so that Timor had a range of style references to "draw"  on for his comic making.  As it turns out, oing these ended up being  the best possible thing, as the results have been very much exi...

A little look for what it to come in the Inanis setting, and the Inanis art style in general.

The  main crew for the HMS Fatum Intra Faux, a Springhare Hopper Mission  Ship. Other crewmembers come and go, as is Springhare custom, but these  four members and ship pet Grimalkin seem to stick around somehow. Life  is dangerous when you're a small mammal in space, after all~

You  can expect to see more of these critters in the future, and indee...

The Illusion of Choice

Tea Spot post The Illusion of Choice from patreon

While many, if not most of the trade hubs, refuelling depots and long  range space stations dotted around the various empires provide profit  enough to attract regular visitors both civilian and military, not all  placed space structures are as lucky.

Many fall into disrepair,  suffer critical damage or trade simply moves to more profitable routes,  assuming such routes even existed at all. While they can be  de-constructed for their vital component...

The RimWorld Springhare mod update

Tea Spot post The RimWorld Springhare mod update from patreon

Well look at that, the RimWorld Springhare mod got a massive overhaul!

So  large were the changes, in fact that the update would have entirely  broken Springhares in saved game, potentially but unlikely even the  entire saved game itself!

To avoid that problem, I didn't update  the original mod itself, instead that version will remain in the Steam  Workshop as a deprecated version. I've uploaded the new, current mod as a  separate file on the Worksh...

Rimworld Springhare Race Preview

Well what's this? The Rimworld Springhares have been worked on again? Oh, yes!

The complete reworking of the Springhare Race mod for Rimworld is more or less at a state to be released! It'll be loaded up on the steam Workshop page at the start of the month, and while I'm fairly sure this'll be the last version before then, there might be little tweaks here and there first.

Still, I figure it's good for you lovley folk to see what I've been tinkering on! The mod itself has been ess...

Springhare Narrowboats

Tea Spot post Springhare Narrowboats from patreon

Space Springhares are capable of making many ships, habitats and other space born structures out of Bonewood China, but the most basic type of interstellar craft they produce is a type of Narrowboat.

Narrowboats are generally small, easy to produce, and highly customisable. They can act as general use ships for Springhares hauling small to medium cargo, but their most frequent use is that of a transport-home combination. Often cosy, cluttered and filled with high efficiency, these ship-...
