SNEAK PEEK + TIME LAPSE: Stylized portrait study (Procreate) 🍿

I love drawing on Monday Mornings! I feel so fresh and full of energy 🤩

I started to practice quick digital portraits because I wanna improve my skills and technique. They are all a bit different because I’m still searching for my style. (If I’m even able to have one 😅). I’ll try to do a series of these studies. We’ll see!

DRAWING GUIDE - Alternative ways of showing contour lines 🔲

I hope you’re having an awesome weekend ☀️ It’s very sunny in my city (over 30 degrees/ 90F)! It’s finally a summer after a cold spring 🍀

Here’s a new Art Guide for you - it’s about contour lines. As I always say - I don’t like drawing closed outlines that look like from a coloring book. Here are some of my ways to avoid this effect 😉

QUICK ART TIP on drawing realistic eyes 💡✨ 👁

Hi everyone! 🙌

Here’s a quick but useful ART TIP on drawing light in the eyes in a realistic way. Please remember that it’s not an anatomical drawing. It’s a very simplified geometry that shows how the light spreads in the eyes ✨

My Concept Art Teacher mentioned it recently and I realized I was using this rule for a while but completely unconsciously. Thanks to him, I can explain it now 😄

TIME LAPSE VIDEO - Animal studies 🐍 + reference photos

I have mixed feelings about these studies:

1. They seem a bit childish to me. Like something that Baby Gabs would like to draw 😅

2. I had big troubles with drawing various textures: fur and scales 🐟

3. I’m not experienced in drawing animals in color. Not to mention in digital! 🎨

At the same time:

1. I was happy to practice something that is not in my comfort zone 😎

JUNE SECRET SKETCHES + Stories Shoutouts 🐾

Hi everyone!

Here are the Secret Sketches for June. This time I had a great desire to draw animals you suggested (a red panda, snake, different types of fish, two cats sleeping together and a foxterrier). I made them as digital studies 🐍. (I will add a time lapse if you want 😉)

I also loved the other propositions - for example Ghibli characters and Emma Stone as Cruella, but I will keep them for later 😁 (I want to see “Cruella” first 🍿 )

Hello my dear Potato Angels 🧡

Here’s a Step by step process of my yesterday’s study! 🥭 It’s a little bit different approach for me - usually I painted with many more layers and it often took many hours. I’d love to explore and practice this way because I’d be able to paint more often 🤩

Documenting step by steps is good for me either because even if I’m not gonna have time for these studies soon, I will always be able to come back and see what I did 😄
