I tried out some gradient maps here and I don't think the drawing benefitted from it! But I'm sure I did, somehow. I don't know, just love changing up my process lol

Slowly making my way through this thing. This page has almost finished lines, I just need to touch up 1 or 2 things. 

I especially enjoy Coughs dialogue. I'm trying to show that not only does she have an odd intonation but the way she talks is also pieced together from sound samples, essentially. 

It is more evident in the beginning of the comic, where she didn't yet get to practice talking :)

Shaggy Ink Cap

I don't know, I had that old drawing where I tried some shinyness but apart from that I didn't much like it - so I redrew it.

Two observations:

1 - I really didn't know how the fuck a shaggy inkcap is drawn without reference, the difference here is funny

2. I struggle keeping things simple

Aaand the third and final one of the swamp pinups! Doesn't mean I'm done with these three though.

Oh and I didnt detail the wings. I decided to make use of the new liquify tool in Clip studio paint, bash a dragonfly wing into shape and call it a day. If you are a 5+ patron there is a quick timelapse of me finishing up the picture in your January Folder.

more comic sketches! Not much to say here, except that I really love putting together Cough’s expressions.

Welcome to 2022, here is a Leech!

I thought it would be nice to round out my swamp-pinup ladies with a leech. There is not much more too it.

It was fun to play with textures here. I think she very much feels like a leather waterballoon. The "thicc" bloodmeal version was fun as well.

I'm not entirely happy with her face. It is supposed to be mimicry like on a butterflywing, but it doesn't look it. Turns out that stuff is kind of hard to do in 2d and with a brain that loves seeing faces - I even tried drawing it ups...
